FIRST LOVE
A Call to Return
We bring God’s word to pastors and leaders, encouraging the Church to return to the call of their First Love and first works. We do this by assisting churches in forming local fellowships for the purpose of reaching their communities.
Light to the World
We pursue this mission because we believe in God’s purpose for the Church. She is to be the light in our very dark world, standing united and shining brightly. Not as individual, scattered candles, but together as a flaming torch for the world to see!
United in Community
Together, we can see our nation reached for Christ, one united community of believers at a time! When we return to God and a passionate love for His people, He can use us to change our nation!
“I rejoiced with those who said to me, ‘Let’s go to the house of the Lord.’ Our feet were standing within your gates, Jerusalem— Jerusalem, built as a city should be, solidly united, where the tribes, the Lord’s tribes, go up to give thanks to the name of the Lord.” (CSB)
Psalm 122:1–4
Solidly United
First Love was birthed out of passion for the Church. We support Her and believe in Her God-given purpose. However, we must put aside our differences and come together as God has ordained if we are to fulfill His mission on earth.
God’s desire is to see His Church solidly united. Cities are changed, people find Jesus, and community leaders take notice when the local church stands together to glorify God, reach the lost, and serve their communities together.
What does a united Church look like?
First and foremost, the call to return begins with returning to our own passionate pursuit of Christ. It continues with the call to return to scripture-based marriages, families, business dealings, and treatment of one another. The call to return costs us everything, but it is the only way to see our families, churches, and communities find healing and experience the fullness of God’s blessings.
As church fellowships form, we hope to see:
-
- Division cease
- Authentic fellowship increase
- Churches serving their city together
- Congregations coming together for citywide events
- City leaders recognizing the Church as a light and a resource to their community
Our strategy
Around the nation, local churches do their best to serve their communities. The problem is that these churches are often working alone rather than partnering together. When churches unite, they can better serve their community and more effectively fulfill the Great Commission!
Our desire is to work with churches with differing denominational backgrounds who share a common core of Christian doctrine. Not only does this type of cross-denominational ministry fight against division, it fights against the loneliness and isolation that pastors can face.
Our strategy is two-fold:
Coaching Pastors
We work with local pastors to overcome the obstacles that keep them divided in their community. We do one-on-one coaching with religious leaders, helping them return to a heart of ministry that is centered on their passionate pursuit of Christ.
Forming Church Fellowships
We work as facilitators in bringing local church leaders to the table, helping them to put aside their differences and work together. Once the local fellowship is formed, we assist in connecting the pastors with the leaders in their community.
Meet Michael
Michael has been a credentialed minister for nearly 20 years! He has served with his wife, Melissa, in both associate and lead pastoral roles. He is passionate about helping others encounter Christ, discover freedom, and share their story. Currently, Michael serves as the Founder and President of First Love. In pioneering this new ministry, it is his goal to encourage the Church to return to the call of their First Love and first works. By forming local fellowships, he hopes to see churches cross lines of division to become solidly united for Christ!
